Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions. The Orthodontic Assistant will assist the orthodontist in various procedures, ensuring that the practice runs smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist during patient treatments, including the placement of braces and other orthodontic appliances. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment for procedures, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use. Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, care of orthodontic appliances, and post-treatment instructions. Schedule appointments and manage the flow of patients within the clinic to optimize efficiency. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including managing medical records and coordinating with insurance providers for billing purposes. Qualifications Previous experience in general dentistry or dental assisting is preferred, but not required. Familiarity with orthodontics is a plus but not mandatory. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
