The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to comprehensive dental services, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and oral surgery, while supporting a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in dental software systems, radiography, and clinical procedures essential for delivering exceptional oral healthcare. Wednesdays and Fridays 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and arranging dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, prosthodontics, and oral surgeries by providing chairside support and managing dental instruments efficiently. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Perform vital signs assessment and document medical information relevant to dental procedures. Support dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards across all clinical activities. Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth patient flow by managing appointment scheduling through patient management software and assisting with front desk duties as a dental receptionist when needed. Maintain proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and the operation of dental equipment including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or oral surgery preferred. Strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and infection prevention management. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Epic; experience with Eaglesoft is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient confidentiality. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards for radiation exposure. Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention protocols. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about oral health care practices. Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent training; additional certifications in radiography or pediatric dentistry are a plus. CPR certified. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and clinical documentation.
