In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered dental practice. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies. Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry by providing chairside support with dental instruments and materials. Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Conduct patient management tasks including vital signs measurement, medical documentation, and explaining treatment procedures in clear dental terminology to enhance patient understanding. Support infection prevention by following strict infection control standards, including dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention protocols. Assist with administrative duties such as answering the phone as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments using patient management software, and managing medical records efficiently. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices. Familiarity with dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools is highly desirable. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix enhances efficiency in managing patient information securely. Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and oral health improves communication within the team and with patients. Demonstrated ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies while maintaining professionalism in handling sensitive medical documentation. Experience with infection control practices specific to dental settings ensures safety for patients and staff alike. Strong organizational skills combined with excellent communication abilities are essential for managing multiple responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
