Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly contribute to creating confident smiles and improving patient lives. Duties Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and care Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection prevention management protocols Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices to promote optimal results Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed Follow strict aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment for patients and staff Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on orthodontics or general dentistry preferred Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft; familiarity with patient management software is a plus Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and procedures related to orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Certification in dental x-ray techniques; additional certifications in infection control or medical imaging are advantageous Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient information Ability to perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintain clinical cleanliness according to infection prevention standards Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry setups Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral structures and medical documentation standards for accurate record keeping Embark on a rewarding career where your skills will help transform smiles while working in a supportive environment that values professional growth.
