Duties Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection prevention management and aseptic techniques Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate advanced medical imaging devices such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to ensure accurate medical documentation Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient care and treatment planning Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and providing excellent customer service as a dental receptionist Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while ensuring compliance with healthcare infection control standards Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with patient management software is highly desirable Strong understanding of dental equipment operation, sterilization procedures, and infection control protocols including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely and accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and familiarity with oral surgery procedures is a plus Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, and collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry setups Certification in X-ray certification or radiography is required; additional certifications in medical terminology or healthcare infection prevention are advantageous Commitment to clinical confidentiality policies, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare infection prevention standards Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a meaningful difference!
