In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases, while maintaining smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection prevention management protocols. Take dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging equipment, adhering to dental x-ray safety standards. Manage patient records using Eaglsoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes. Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, equipment, and supplies while maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and assisting with patient management software to coordinate appointments and follow-up care. Support the dental reception team by managing patient check-in/out processes, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks with professionalism. Uphold clinical confidentiality policies in compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical documentation and records. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft for scheduling and medical documentation management. Familiarity with EMR systems, patient management software, and medical coding practices related to dentistry. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with skills in dental instrument processing and chairside assisting techniques like four-handed dentistry. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients across diverse age groups including pediatrics; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus. Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is preferred; additional certifications in radiography or specialized dental assisting are advantageous.
