Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care! Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared efficiently. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray machines while maintaining strict adherence to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection control protocols to uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology, and assisting with patient management software to schedule appointments and update medical documentation. Support dental reception duties by greeting patients, managing appointment scheduling, verifying insurance information, and handling general inquiries as a dental receptionist. Maintain dental equipment, assist with chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry techniques, and support the team with medical imaging as needed. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and infection prevention management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools while following infection control standards. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records efficiently. Ability to perform dental sterilization procedures accurately and maintain aseptic technique throughout clinical activities. Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures to patients and collaborating effectively with the dental team. Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise combined with a solid understanding of general dentistry practices including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics.
