Job Description

Overview Portside Dental is looking for a friendly, long term, detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our collaborative and patient-focused team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. Previous experience preferred. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment areas according to safety protocols. Turn over and prepare operatories efficiently and according to infection control standards Take and process X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans. Monitors and documents the flow of laboratory cases Provide post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Assists with dental charting as appropriate Performs miscellaneous duties within the Dental Program as assigned Experience Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with dental assisting practices, including knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Understanding of medical terminology and dental terminology is essential. Experience with managing medical records and adhering to HIPAA guidelines is an asset. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
