Job Description

  • Job Summary:
  • The Dental Assistant at the Community Health Center of Niagara in Niagara Falls, NY, plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
This position involves collaborating closely with the dentist, engaging in four-handed dentistry tasks, managing patient seating and dismissals, sterilizing instruments, taking x-rays, overseeing inventory, handling basic equipment maintenance, and fulfilling various clerical duties. A key aspect of this role is maintaining a professional and supportive attitude towards patients while actively participating in staff meetings.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience working in a dental office Certification as a registered dental assistant in New York State is preferred
  • Responsibilities:
  • Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Seat and dismiss patients, maintain cleanliness in the operatory and dental laboratory Sterilize dental instruments, process radiographs Manage dental supplies inventory, conduct laboratory duties, and handle clerical tasks Utilize computerized systems for patient registration and other administrative processes Perform basic equipment maintenance, such as changing suction machine filters •

  • Ability to work independently and adapt to flexible schedules Demonstrate personal integrity and professionalism in all interactions Strong communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to collaborate with patients from diverse backgrounds Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Salary Range:
  • Registered Dental Assistant:
    $20.87
  • $28.47 per hour
  • Dental Assistant without certification: $18.68
  • $22.32 per hour
