Come join our rapidly expanding Acorn Dentistry for Kids team! Our Dental Assistant in Training Program is a unique training experience that combines observation and hands-on training, as well as paid study time in preparation to get your Radiology, EFPDA, and Sealant certifications. Training ranges 3-6 months, and afterwards you enter into a 2 year contract with Acorn working as a Pediatric Dental Assistant. At Acorn Dentistry for Kids we believe Every Child Gets A Smile, and we're looking for team members that are passionate about helping kids and their smiles! The Pediatric Dental Assistant in Training program requires commitment and intensive training that is not necessarily applicable to the dental hygienist education and training. What to expect Full time intensive curriculum that allows dental assistants in training to jump into full time clinical assisting when completed. Topics include infection control/sterilization, radiology, dental terminology, dental treatment procedures, and much more. Ongoing training including hands-on and paid study time. Requirements Full time availability Have an open mind and be willing to learn a new skillset Plan to spend 8-12 hours of home study each week. Commitment to 2 years of employment with Acorn Dentistry for Kids. Plan for expenses such as transportation between clinics in the area, textbooks, and DANB exam fees (all still a fraction of the cost of traditional Dental Assistant schooling).
