Our new team member will be responsible for warmly greeting, seating and discharging patients, preparing equipment and materials for dental treatment, while performing four-handed dental assisting in general dentistry including temp crowns, endo and implant placement as well as perform other chairside and office procedures and duties as assigned by the OM or DDS. Responsibilities Prepares and restocks treatments rooms and other clinical support areas as needed.
- Process equipment and facility repair requests as needed.
Complies with and enforces all practice policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Complies with and enforces all OSHA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and reports incidents and/or violations as required. Complies with and enforces all HIPAA standards, and reports ethics and compliance violations as required. Complies with assigned work schedules and the practice's timekeeping policies. Answer incoming office/patient calls as needed. Other duties as assigned. Stocks and changes all chemical solutions such as, disinfectant soaks and sprays, sterilizing compounds, and ultrasonic cleaning solutions, etc. Reviews medical history, progress from the previous visit, if applicable, and the scheduled treatment plan with each patient. Performs four-handed dental assisting procedures to including aspirating and retracting tissues ensuring patient comfort and safety. Removes post-extraction and surgical dressings. Pours and trims impression casts. Records treatment rendered in the patient's chart and charges out all procedures. Instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs. Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist. Escorts patient to the administrative office for follow-up and rescheduling. Disinfect all treatment rooms and sterilizes instruments after each patient appointment following infection control protocols. Maintains cleanliness of treatment rooms, lab and sterilizing areas as well as the office spaces. Discuss treatment options, importance and follow up recommended care Providing teeth polishing and sealant placement procedure, laser whiteing and Curodont placement (with required certifications) Creating positive and uplifting patient environments by patient engagement before, during and after visits and represents themselves during work as on extension of the office/DDS in a professional and caring manner to patients, teammates and supervisors. Strong demonstration of task completion and dedication to detail Experienced in digital charting, x-rays and 3D imaging and scanning. Manage inventory of dental supplies and ensure proper storage and utilization order.
CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REQUIREMENTS
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) year dental assisting work experience.
- -nitrous certification is a PLUS.
- -coronal polishing certification is a PLUS.
- Spanish Bilingual a plus.
