Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support dentists and hygienists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will help create a smooth, efficient, and welcoming environment for every patient. If you're passionate about pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, or specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics, this position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills while making a positive impact on patients' lives. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, etc. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Manage electronic medical records using EMR system using Open Dental ensuring accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical coding. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to promote a positive experience. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate in four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce procedure times while maintaining high standards of care. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Hands-on experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines. Proficiency in dental software platform Open Dental for managing patient data and medical documentation. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality. Experience supporting specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics is advantageous but not required. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly using dental and medical terminology.
