Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth and welcoming patient experience. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to radiation safety protocols and proper imaging techniques. Scan using (ITERO) Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as DentEaglesoft, or Epic; ensure accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes. Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and compassion. Assist with dental instrument processing, ensuring all tools are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored according to healthcare infection prevention standards. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow using patient management software and other healthcare technology tools. Uphold excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist when scheduling appointments or providing post-treatment instructions to patients. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation is required for effective assistance. Hands-on experience in dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic technique is necessary for maintaining clinical safety standards. Exposure to pediatric dentistry or oral surgery settings will be considered an asset; understanding of pediatric-specific care is beneficial. Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while following radiation safety guidelines; familiarity with dental x-ray technology is essential. using itero Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention protocols combined with excellent communication skills ensures optimal patient care delivery.
