Duties Oral Health & Periodontal Assessment:
Record vital signs, screen for oral cancer, evaluate tissue health, and perform full-mouth periodontal probing.
Prophylaxis & Periodontal Therapy:
Perform ultrasonic and manual scaling to remove plaque, calculus, and stains, including deep scaling and root planing (SRP).
Diagnostic Imaging:
Expose and process diagnostic bitewings, periapicals, and panoramic/CBCT radiographs.
Preventive Treatments:
Apply topical fluorides, place pit-and-fissure sealants, apply desensitizers, and deliver localized antimicrobials.
Patient Education:
Instruct patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutritional habits, and the systemic-oral health connection.
Clinical Documentation:
Chart periodontal depths, update medical and medication histories, and log completed treatments in the practice management software.
Sterilization & Infection Control:
Maintain operatory disinfection, sterilize instruments, and uphold strict
OSHA/CDC
safety standards. Skills Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) Registered Dental Hygienist CPR certification preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
