In this energetic role, you'll provide comprehensive care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and educate patients on the vital link between oral and systemic health. Duties Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Be capable of diagnosing, treating and coding accurate periodontal status. Reviewing and updating medical records to ensure safe and effective treatment. Take and develop imaging such as digital X-rays and CBCT. Adhere to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and dental terminology to promote long-term oral health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, treatment notes, and medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems (Oryx). Follow HIPAA regulations rigorously to protect patient privacy and ensure compliance with legal standards.
Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification. Proven experience in dental office settings. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy, and medical coding standards. Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation review and recordkeeping. Strong communication skills for patient care, education, and team collaboration. Ability to perform detailed patient assessments and periodontal treatment planning.
