Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history, and dental examinations to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health. Assist with various dental procedures such as prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, and pediatric dentistry as needed. Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and managing patient flow efficiently. Collaborate with the dental office staff including receptionists to ensure seamless patient experiences from check-in to check-out. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office environment. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation standards. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate recordkeeping. Experience in general dentistry with additional skills in specialized areas like prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, or periodontics is highly desirable. Ability to perform patient assessments including vital signs and medical history review confidently. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and work collaboratively with the dental team.
