We are committed to providing exceptional dental care in a welcoming family-oriented environment and are looking for a hygienist who shares our passion for patient education and clinical excellence. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort Assess patient health by measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration, and document findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort Maintain strict infection prevention protocols by implementing aseptic techniques and managing infection control procedures in compliance with healthcare standards Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information Support the use of dental software systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and medical coding tasks Conduct patient assessments to identify oral health issues early and recommend appropriate treatment plans Ensure all dental equipment is properly maintained, sterilized, and ready for use at all times Experience Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments with a focus on pediatric patients preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care Hands-on experience with electronic health records (EHR) management systems such as Dentrix Familiarity with medical imaging techniques, including X-ray procedures specific to dentistry Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including children in pediatric dentistry settings Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA compliance management Ability to perform chairside assisting duties confidently while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety
