Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient comfort Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure patient safety Monitor patient responses during treatment, providing chairside assistance with dental equipment and supplies as needed Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental radiography (X-ray) procedures Proficiency with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures Experience in pediatric dentistry preferred but not required; ability to work effectively with children in pediatrics-focused practices Excellent communication skills for client education, team collaboration, and patient care instructions Deep understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control standards aligned with HIPAA compliance to maintain patient confidentiality Ability to perform medical assessments including vital signs measurement and basic medical imaging techniques Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management is advantageous Commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor while delivering compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment Join us in making a difference—where your skills help create healthier smiles every day!
