OFF Job Description The Dental Hygienist utilizes their clinical expertise to provide exceptional patient care while supporting an efficient, collaborative, and patient-centered practice. This role focuses on delivering high-quality preventive dental services, educating patients, and contributing to a positive clinical environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide high-quality preventive dental care, including scaling, root planing, polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealant application. Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments, including reviewing medical histories, evaluating periodontal health, performing oral cancer screenings, and identifying potential concerns. Take and process dental radiographs in accordance with established safety protocols. Collaborate with dentists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patients' oral health needs. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and the connection between oral health and overall wellness. Accurately document patient assessments, treatment plans, and clinical findings in electronic health records. Maintain dental instruments, equipment, and operatories in accordance with infection control, sterilization, and safety standards. Provide compassionate, patient-focused care that promotes comfort, trust, and a positive dental experience. Participate in daily morning huddles to review schedules, discuss patient needs, and support an efficient workflow. Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff to ensure continuity of patient care and an exceptional patient experience. Support department goals by following established clinical protocols and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. Stay current on advancements in dental hygiene, clinical techniques, and best practices through continuing education. Perform other duties as assigned.
