Position Overview:
We're seeking a caring and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our team part-time. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient-focused, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team that values providing high-quality care. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories. Assist the dentist during procedures to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining proper infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using Dentrix. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and medical coding standards. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination. Manage patient flow efficiently while maintaining high standards of care in pediatric and general dentistry settings. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proficiency in Dentrix is preferred. Experience with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, and medical records management is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations. Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in dental assisting techniques. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations including pediatrics. Familiarity with EMR systems, documentation review, medical coding, and aseptic techniques. Prior experience working in dental clinics or dental offices is preferred. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
