Job Description

Dental Hygienist Employment Type:
Full-Time. Flexible on days/hours. No weekends.
Location:
Marion, Ohio We are seeking a licensed Dental Hygienist to join a collaborative, patient-centered community health organization. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental care while developing individualized dental care plans under the supervision of a qualified dentist. Key Responsibilities Assess dental condition and patient needs through screening procedures Review medical history and perform dental and periodontal charting Take vital signs as required Deliver direct patient care using established dental hygiene protocols Perform routine preventive and therapeutic treatment procedures Develop and implement individualized dental care plans Document dental history and treatment in the EHR Provide patient and family education on oral hygiene and preventive care Participate in discharge planning and patient teaching Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes Perform triage and initiate care for walk-in patients as appropriate Prepare and maintain patient care areas and dental equipment Assist with or initiate emergency measures during adverse developments Independently perform emergency dental procedures within scope Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations Qualifications Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist Diploma in Dental Hygiene Strong knowledge of dental outpatient regulations and compliance standards Ability to independently assess dental and periodontal conditions Proficiency in patient screening, charting, and documentation Ability to formulate therapeutic treatment plans based on prescribed protocols Skilled in performing a full range of dental hygiene procedures Ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients Knowledge of dental surgery procedures, terminology, and instrumentation Ability to set up and maintain equipment in accordance with regulations
