Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, and pediatric dentistry treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current medications to ensure safe treatment planning. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health habits. Adhere strictly to infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and healthcare infection control standards. Manage dental equipment sterilization, inventory, and maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient clinical environment. Review medical coding and documentation for billing accuracy while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist within a busy dental office or clinic setting is required. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care for pediatric patients is a plus. Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively about treatment plans and oral health education.
