Registered Dental Hygienist Hillcrest Dental Clarksville, TN Job Details Full-time From $42.95 an hour 3 days ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Paid time off Employee discount Qualifications CPR Certification Teamwork BLS Certification Attention to detail Registered Dental Hygienist Full Job Description The opportunity Caprock Dental is seeking a thorough, self-directed Registered Dental Hygienist who takes pride in excellent patient care and consistent clinical standards. You will have the structure and autonomy to manage your patient day, complete accurate documentation, educate patients clearly, and support a strong doctor-hygiene partnership. The right hygienist does not need someone standing over them to deliver their best work. You notice details, follow through, stay on schedule, and speak up when a patient or the team needs something. You care about patients as people while remaining disciplined about protocols, safety, and the standard of care. What you will own Clinical care and patient safety Provide comprehensive preventive and periodontal hygiene care within Tennessee scope-of-practice requirements and Caprock Dental's clinical protocols. Review medical and dental histories, assess periodontal health, obtain appropriate radiographs and records, and identify changes requiring dentist evaluation. Deliver prophylaxis, periodontal therapy, maintenance, fluoride, sealants, and other authorized services with consistency and attention to detail. Follow infection-control, sterilization, privacy, workplace-safety, and emergency-response procedures without shortcuts. Patient education and trust Explain findings and home-care recommendations in clear language patients can understand and act on. Help patients understand the connection between oral health, recommended treatment, and long-term wellness without creating pressure. Build patient trust through careful listening, professionalism, empathy, and consistent follow-through. Support case acceptance by reinforcing the dentist's diagnosis and agreed treatment plan accurately. Documentation and schedule ownership Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical notes, periodontal charting, radiographs, treatment records, and handoffs. Prepare the operatory and review the schedule before the day begins so patient care starts on time. Manage appointment time responsibly, communicate delays early, and protect both quality and patient flow. Review continuing-care needs and help patients leave with clear next steps and appropriate future appointments. Doctor-hygiene and team partnership Give the dentist a concise, organized clinical handoff with relevant findings, patient concerns, and pending needs. Collaborate with dentists, assistants, and business team members to create a smooth, coordinated patient experience. Participate actively in huddles, team meetings, training, and calibration of clinical standards. Address concerns directly and respectfully, ask for help when appropriate, and contribute solutions. What success looks like Patients receive thorough, consistent care and understand their oral-health condition and next steps. Clinical records are accurate, complete, and entered on time. The hygiene schedule runs reliably without sacrificing safety, quality, or patient connection. Dentists receive dependable clinical information and experience strong follow-through from the hygiene team. You remain current in your profession and continually improve your knowledge and technique. The person we are looking for Currently licensed and in good standing as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Tennessee. Precise, dependable, and comfortable working independently within clear clinical standards. Warm and patient-centered, with the communication skills to educate rather than lecture. Consistent in documentation, time management, infection control, and follow-through. Receptive to feedback, clinical calibration, and measurable accountability. Committed to teamwork while willing to use sound judgment and speak up when something needs attention. CPR/BLS certification and all other credentials required for the position must remain current. This role will not be a fit if... You require direct supervision to stay organized, complete records, or manage your patient day. You resist clinical standards, feedback, accountability, or ongoing learning. You routinely sacrifice accuracy, safety, or patient communication to move faster. You do not enjoy collaborating with dentists and teammates who care deeply about one another and their work. You are not currently licensed in Tennessee or cannot reliably commute to the assigned office. Why Caprock Dental Our vision is to be THE Best Place for those who WANT to be the best. We are committed to Mastery Thinking & Lifelong Learning, Personal Accountability, and Exceptional Results. Our doctors and offices are committed to becoming the best version of who we can be, together. We are proud to offer affordable medical insurance and other voluntary benefits to team members who share that commitment.
