In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional dental care, educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, and support the smooth operation of our dental practice. Dr Shiotsu has been practicing at this location for over 25 years and has a strong passion for dentistry, continuing education and looks into the total health care for our patients. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection prevention protocols Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems on Open Dental accurately, including documentation review and medical coding Maintain strict infection control standards by adhering to HIPAA regulations, aseptic techniques, and infection prevention management protocols Monitor and record vital signs, medical imaging results, and other relevant data during patient visits Ensure all dental equipment is properly maintained, sterilized, and ready for use in accordance with healthcare infection prevention standards Support patient care through excellent communication skills, ensuring clarity in explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist within a general dentistry setting Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation management Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to general dentistry practices Hands-on experience with dental x-ray procedures, X-ray equipment operation, and radiation safety protocols Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient education and building trustful relationships Join us to be part of a caring team dedicated to delivering exceptional dental services!
