About Us We are a busy, two-doctor oral surgery practice in Healdsburg dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment. We're looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Sterile Technician to join our team and help keep our surgical operations running smoothly. Job Summary The Sterile Technician plays a critical role in patient safety and the efficiency of our surgical practice. This person is responsible for the sterilization of surgical instruments, preparation of surgical trays, and turnover of treatment rooms between procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control. Responsibilities Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments in accordance with OSHA and CDC infection control guidelines Assemble and prepare surgical trays for scheduled procedures Perform timely room turnover between patients, ensuring rooms are properly stocked, cleaned, and ready for the next case Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment (autoclaves, etc.), including logging cycles and running biological/spore tests Track instrument inventory and communicate supply needs to the team Follow all infection control and safety protocols to maintain a sterile surgical environment Support the surgical team as needed to keep the schedule moving efficiently Maintain compliance with sterilization documentation and recordkeeping requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required CPR Certified Prior experience in sterilization, dental/surgical assisting, or a related healthcare role preferred, but willing to train the right candidate Knowledge of infection control standards (OSHA, CDC) a plus Strong attention to detail and commitment to following protocols precisely Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical practice Positive, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills Reliable, punctual, and able to stand/move for extended periods during shifts
