Job Description

San Leandro is currently looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Records & Retainer Fabrication Assistant to join our orthodontic team. This role is responsible for taking patient records, fabricating retainers and orthodontic appliances, maintaining digital records, and supporting the clinical team to ensure excellent patient care. Responsibilities Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is complete and organized. Fabricate, trim, polish, and quality-check clear retainers and other orthodontic appliances according to doctor specifications. Prepare retainers and appliances for patient delivery, ensuring proper fit and quality. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, reporting any equipment issues to the office manager. Assist in monitoring inventory levels of lab materials and ordering supplies as needed. Ensure compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines for infection control and safety practices. Keep the records and laboratory areas clean, organized, and efficient. Work closely with doctors and the clinical team to ensure records and appliances are completed accurately and on schedule. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; dental assisting experience is preferred. Orthodontic experience, digital scanning, or retainer fabrication experience is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions. Knowledge of orthodontic workflows, digital records, or laboratory procedures is preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication skills, with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
