Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Sterilization Technician and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for meticulously sterilizing, decontaminating, and preparing dental instruments and equipment to uphold the highest standards of infection prevention and control. Your attention to detail, knowledge of medical terminology, and commitment to aseptic techniques will contribute to a safe and efficient clinical environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop specialized skills in sterile processing within a fast-paced healthcare setting. Responsibilities Perform thorough decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of dental instruments, surgical tools, and medical equipment using approved sterilization methods. Assemble, package, and label sterile instruments accurately for patient procedures, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical equipment, restocking supplies as needed to maintain seamless clinic operations. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance documentation to ensure regulatory compliance. Follow strict aseptic techniques during all handling and reprocessing activities to prevent cross-contamination. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for scheduled procedures while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Prior experience in sterile processing or medical instrument assembly is highly preferred; training will be provided for the right candidate. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and infection control principles relevant to dental and surgical settings. Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention practices including aseptic technique and surgical instrument handling. Ability to manage inventory efficiently while maintaining meticulous records of sterilization processes. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to maintaining a safe clinical environment.
