Job Description

Scenic Rivers Health Services is currently seeking a Full-time Dental Sterilization Technician to support our dental clinic in Cook, MN. This position will work closely with the dental providers to assist in procedures and perform certain oral treatments. Additional responsibilities will include floating between dental providers, sterilization and lab, and backup reception support. The schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 5pm.
Dental Assistant Responsibilities:
Comply with HIPAA requirements and standards to ensure patient confidentiality. Clean and disinfect dental operatories following dental procedures. Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, dental supplies and equipment. Assemble, package and sterilize instruments. Place sterilized instruments in the proper location. Set up new trays with proper instruments per hygienists' and providers preference in order to prepare for patient care. Monitor and restock sterilization. Restock the hygiene operatories if needed. Fetch supplies or items for providers if needed As supplies run low, place items on the "to order list" (as well as all other dental staff) Maintain clean and orderly sterilization area Follow proper established regulations and guidelines for sterilizing dental equipment and cleaning/disinfecting dental operatories Help keep lab area clean as needed Maintain equipment and ensure repairs are made on broken equipment Open packages and boxes and put supplies and items away. Stay up to date on daily schedule to ensure timely turnover of operatories keeping all providers on time. On occasion prepare patient and assist dental provider during dental procedures, and dental emergencies. Record patient medical and dental histories as well as treatment information in patient records using the Electronic Dental Records system. Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Manager.
