Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Surgical Tech or Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and clinical efficiency. In this vital role, you will support dental and oral surgery procedures by preparing treatment areas, managing dental instruments, and assisting clinicians with precision and care. Your proactive approach ensures a safe, sterile environment while delivering exceptional patient experiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting dedicated to excellence in healthcare. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists or oral surgeons during procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Monitor vital signs and patient comfort levels before, during, and after procedures to support comprehensive patient care. Process dental instruments for sterilization following established dental sterilization procedures to uphold infection control standards. Support front desk operations by performing dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow with patient management software, and verifying insurance information. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, dental terminology, and understanding of dental equipment. Experience with EMR systems such as Wins OMS for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control policies to ensure a safe clinical environment. Ability to operate dental imaging devices including X-ray machines and 3D scanners effectively while adhering to safety protocols. Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatrics. Excellent communication skills for patient management and collaboration with healthcare team members including dental receptionists and medical staff. Familiarity with medical coding standards related to dental procedures for accurate documentation.
