Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and diligent Dental Sterilization Technician to ensure the highest standards of infection control and sterilization within our practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures, medical equipment sterilization, and infection prevention protocols. This role is vital to maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment, supporting our team in delivering exceptional dental care. Duties Prepare, assemble, and package sterilized dental instruments and surgical tools following strict aseptic techniques. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and health regulations. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, ensuring timely restocking and proper storage to prevent contamination. Perform routine decontamination procedures for dental instruments, including cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing reusable equipment Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and compliance documentation for regulatory audits. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure infection prevention measures are consistently applied throughout the practice. Skills Proven experience in sterile processing medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization within a healthcare or dental setting. Strong knowledge of infection control standards, healthcare infection prevention practices, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical terminology related to dental procedures and instrumentation. Ability to operate medical equipment sterilization devices safely and effectively. Excellent organizational skills for inventory management and record keeping. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to dental instruments and procedures enhances understanding of sterilization needs. Effective communication skills to coordinate with dental professionals regarding instrument handling and infection control protocols.
