Position Summary The Dietary Director plans, prepares, and serves nutritious, attractive meals while ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen environment. This position also places food orders, follows the dietary budget, and maintains kitchen employee scheduling. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and enjoys working in a resident-centered environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to menus, portion guidelines, and dietary requirements. Ensure meals are served on schedule and all needed ingredients are prepared in advance (including meat thawing, prep work, etc.). Prepare meals for modified diets per physician orders and therapeutic guidelines. Visit with residents to ensure satisfaction and maintain awareness of food preferences. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen according to state and local health regulations. Follow cleaning schedules and sanitation checklists daily. Track and account for all resident, guest, and staff meals per established procedures. Monitor residents for any changes in condition related to dietary needs and report to leadership. Work weekend and holiday shifts as part of the rotation. Report concerns, issues, or suspected abuse immediately to the Executive Director. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Culinary Director or Executive Director. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience as a cook required; experience cooking for large groups (50+ people) preferred. Experience preparing special diets (low sodium, low cholesterol, diabetic, vegetarian) preferred. Ability to prepare a wide range of foods with quality and consistency. Strong organization and time-management skills; able to work with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and health regulations. Ability to stand for long periods and lift 30-50 lbs as needed. Must meet all general staffing requirements: Free of communicable diseases TB clearance Criminal background clearance Ability to read, write, and understand English Reliable attendance and adherence to PTO/time-off policies Willingness to learn and uphold resident dignity, choice, and independence Why Mt.
