Morning Star Post Acute Position Summary Morning Star Post Acute is seeking a dependable and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. The Dietary Aide assists with preparing and serving meals to residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment. This position plays an important role in ensuring residents receive meals according to their prescribed diets, preferences, and individual needs. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare meal trays and assist with meal service for residents. Follow resident diet orders, including regular, therapeutic, texture-modified, and special diets as directed. Accurately portion food and beverages according to established menus and dietary guidelines. Deliver and collect meal trays in a timely manner. Assist with food preparation and kitchen duties as assigned. Wash dishes, utensils, trays, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment. Clean and sanitize work areas, dining areas, equipment, and food service areas. Properly store food and supplies and follow food safety procedures. Follow infection control, sanitation, and proper food-handling practices. Report resident meal concerns, changes in intake, or other concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain respectful and professional interactions with residents, families, coworkers, and other departments. Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and state and federal requirements applicable to skilled nursing facilities. Assist the Dietary Manager and other dietary staff as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous dietary, food service, restaurant, healthcare, or skilled nursing experience preferred but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to read and understand menus, diet cards, tray tickets, and dietary instructions. Must be dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team. Must demonstrate patience, professionalism, and respect when working with elderly and rehabilitation residents. Must meet all applicable health screening and employment requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to safely lift and carry food, supplies, trays, and kitchen equipment as required. Ability to work around hot equipment, steam, water, cleaning products, and varying temperatures.
