Newton Health Care Center | Newton, IA Newton Health Care Center is seeking a Dietary Aide / Cook to join our skilled nursing facility in Newton, IA. This dual-role position is responsible for assisting with meal preparation, cooking, food service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. The Dietary Aide / Cook plays an important role in ensuring residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals while following all dietary policies and food safety regulations. Shift Available Part-Time Every other weekend Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and portion control guidelines Plan food production to coordinate with scheduled meal service Follow standardized recipes and therapeutic diet orders Prepare food for regular, modified, and special diets Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Maintain knowledge of menu items, portion sizes, and plate presentation Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention standards Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, appliances, and work areas Assist with serving meals in a timely and courteous manner Support meal preparation and other food service duties as assigned Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup as needed Work collaboratively with the dietary team to provide exceptional service to residents Qualifications One (1) year of dining services experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other healthcare setting preferred Culinary school training preferred Current ServSafe Certification required High school diploma or GED preferred Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Join our dietary team and help provide delicious, nutritious meals that enhance the health and well-being of our residents.
