Job Description

Description Cooks, prepare and provide the highest quality and safest food possible to patients, cafeteria clientele, staff and catered events. Preforms a variety of duties concerning the sanitation and safety of the Nutrition Services Department in accordance with established food service standards and practices.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE
Provides meals to patients at assigned times and/or on demand to provide appropriate nutrition during their stay. Cooks and prepares food items to fulfill the weekly menu and provide a variety of nutritional options for customers. Serves food to customers coming through the cafeteria and at special events, to provide a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Complies with HACCP and Food Code regulations. Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED desirable. On-the-job training will be provided; however, previous experience in food preparation and service is highly desirable. Training given in preparation of special foods.
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS
(License, certification, registration): ServSafe certification desirable
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with the other Nutrition Service employees and others in the facility. This would include supporting a positive, respectful culture; treating others in a friendly manner; and providing exceptional customer service. Willingly gives assistance to fellow workers who need help, including exchanging work shifts to help coworkers meet their needs, when possible. Knowledge of and skill in maintaining applicable quality control standards. Ability to be flexible and accommodating in order to adapt to changing schedules, patient needs, and department workload. Relates to patients and visitors with consideration, patience, consideration and treating them with consideration, respect and assisting them as needed to feel welcome. Position includes rotating am/pm shifts as well as rotating weekend and holidays. Benefit eligible!
