Know Your Team:
Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities:
The Dietary Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of diet office tasks that relate to the transfer of information concerning patients' diet, meal selections, preferences, and complaints. Assist Dietitians in obtaining information from clients and patients regarding their medical histories, food preferences, and special dietary needs. Provide nutritional education to groups and individuals, including those requiring special diets to help them recover from disease or illness. Calculate and analyze food consumption, changes in clients' weight, and health and wellness indicators. Design individual nutrition plans and monitor the results. Create and update patient records. Report all accidents and injuries on time. Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments. Communicate and interact well with patient-related hospital departments, patients, families, visitors, nursing personnel, medical staff, and co-workers. Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent (GED). At least 1+ year of institutional dietary service experience or work performed within a food service environment. Must possess computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word, learning and navigating electronic medical records, and HealthTouch.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Servesafe Certification. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
