Part-Time (Flexible hours including weekends and occasional evenings for events) Position Summary The Part-Time Dietary Cook plays a key role in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service to residents in our senior living community. This position is responsible for meal preparation, kitchen sanitation, inventory management, supporting community marketing events and other operational functions where required. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, flexible, and passionate about serving seniors. They should also have a working knowledge of the complexities of the as well as the challenges of navigating inclement weather protocols. Essential Responsibilities Meal Preparation & Service Prepare and serve nutritious meals in accordance with planned menus and dietary guidelines. Ensure proper portion control and presentation standards. Accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions. Maintain food quality, temperature, and safety standards at all times, and document accordingly and as instructed by the Director. Kitchen Operations & Sanitation Perform dishwashing and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas as necessary. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (local and state regulations). Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen environment. Inventory & Ordering Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs. Assist with receiving, labeling, storing, and rotating inventory. Support cost and portion controls and minimize food waste. Marketing & Community Events Assist with food preparation and presentation for marketing events, tours, tastings, and special community functions. Support themed meals, holiday events, and resident celebrations. Help create a welcoming dining experience that enhances community reputation. Help with maintaining a clean dining room, which may include assistance with cleaning tables or floors as directed by the Director. Operational Support Provide flexible support to other operational areas as needed (set-up, light maintenance coordination, activity assistance, etc.). Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations. Step into leadership role in kitchen during assigned shifts. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous cooking experience required; senior living or healthcare experience preferred. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, ServSafe certificate preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods. Flexible availability, including weekends and occasional evenings.
