Job Description

Job Summary Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will assist with food service operations and help ensure our residents receive high-quality meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. You will work closely with the Dietitian and Director of Food Services to maintain proper food service standards and support the nutritional needs of our residents. Dietary Aide Responsibilities Assist with the preparation, service, and delivery of food trays to designated areas. Prepare and deliver snacks as directed. Serve meals according to established portion-control procedures. Ensure meals are appetizing and properly presented. Clean and maintain the kitchen according to established protocols. Perform daily cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, washing utensils, and maintaining food storage areas. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized food service environment. Report any issues or concerns to the Dietitian or Director of Food Services. Treat all residents with dignity and respect while protecting their rights and confidentiality. Follow all facility policies, procedures, safety standards, and hygiene requirements. Report any noncompliance, retaliation, or discrimination to the appropriate personnel. Work cooperatively with dietary staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Qualifications & Requirements Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to make independent decisions and interact tactfully with residents, staff, and the public. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Reliable, supportive, and willing to contribute to a positive team environment. Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday and perform required physical tasks. Ability to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays, when necessary. Working Conditions Work may involve exposure to warm areas, food-service equipment, odors, and frequent interruptions. May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, or other healthcare-related conditions. Must be able to work safely in a warm, well-lit, and ventilated environment. May be exposed to potential workplace hazards, including falls and burns from equipment.
