Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Food Service Employee and become a vital part of providing exceptional nutritional care in a healthcare or assisted living environment. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, serving, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation while delivering friendly, attentive service to residents and patients. Your energetic approach will help create a positive dining experience that supports the health and well-being of those we serve. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply culinary skills, uphold safety protocols, and work collaboratively within a dedicated dietary team. Duties Prepare and assemble meals according to dietary guidelines, ensuring all food handling and sanitation standards are met. Serve meals with professionalism and kindness, adhering to specific dietary requirements for residents or patients. Assist with food production tasks such as portioning, plating, and packaging to ensure timely meal delivery. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, dining areas, and food service utensils through proper sanitation practices. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashers, following all workplace safety procedures. Support dietary department operations by bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and assisting with inventory management. Follow all food safety regulations including proper manual handling techniques, safe lifting practices, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Qualifications Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Food Handlers or ServSafe Certification Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, sanitation protocols, and dietary requirements for geriatric or healthcare populations. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and handle heavy lifting when necessary. Familiarity with food safety standards such as JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) guidelines is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach when working with residents or patients. Basic math skills for portioning and inventory control; CPR certification is a plus but not required. Pay:
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
