Overview Sierra View Homes Retirement Community is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and motivated Registered Dietitian (RD) to oversee the nutritional care of our residents. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing nutritional needs, developing and monitoring individualized nutrition care plans, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and supporting the Dietary Department in providing high-quality nutritional services that promote the health and well-being of our residents. The Registered Dietitian serves as a clinical nutrition expert and collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, therapy, dietary staff, residents, and families to provide exceptional nutritional care. Duties Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments upon admission, quarterly, annually, and with significant changes in condition. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans. Evaluate residents identified as nutritionally at risk and provide appropriate interventions. Monitor weight changes, laboratory values, skin integrity, hydration status, and other nutrition-related indicators. Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings. Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) as appropriate. Review physician diet orders for accuracy and appropriateness. Recommend therapeutic diet modifications based on resident needs. Ensure compliance with physician orders, dietary regulations, and standards of practice. Collaborate with nursing, therapy, pharmacy, and medical providers to optimize resident outcomes. Assist with menu planning to ensure nutritional adequacy and regulatory compliance. Review menus for therapeutic diets, allergies, cultural preferences, and resident satisfaction. Monitor food quality, portion sizes, meal presentation, and sanitation practices. Assist in developing nutrition-related policies and procedures. Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and staff. Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities. Assist during state surveys and regulatory inspections.

California Department of Public Health (CDPH) CMS regulations Title 22 requirements Infection Prevention standards HIPAA requirements Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field. Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Current registration in good standing. Licensed in the State of California if required by law. Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within six months). Current CPR certification preferred. Preferred Minimum one (1) year of experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, or geriatric nutrition. Experience with PointClickCare or other electronic medical record systems. Knowledge of CMS, Title 22, and long-term care regulations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition and therapeutic diets. Knowledge of long-term care regulations. Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to educate residents, families, and staff. Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health records. Physical Requirements Ability to walk throughout the facility for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, reach, and sit for extended periods. Visual acuity sufficient for chart review and computer documentation. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff. Working Conditions Indoor healthcare environment. Exposure to kitchen and food preparation areas. Possible exposure to infectious diseases; adherence to infection control policies is required. May occasionally work evenings or weekends for meetings, surveys, or special events. Pay:

$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
