Job Summary:
Chrysalis Center is looking for a Registered Dietician to join our thriving team in coastal Wilmington, NC. We strive to restore hope and empower change by providing expert level, evidence-based health care and multidisciplinary eating disorder treatment. Founded in 2003, we are a locally owned business accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the state to provide comprehensive eating disorder treatment. We run both outpatient and IOP (Intensive Outpatient) programming while providing our clinicians with ample referrals and full administrative support. As a Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition advice and guidance to patients. Dietitians at Chrysalis Center provide individualized high-quality care to people with a variety of personal health and nutrition related goals, including those who experience eating disorders. Nutritional counseling includes utilizing the nutrition care process in its entirety, helping clients understand their relationship with food, and providing education about intuitive and mindful eating. Our registered dietitians provide science-based education on a variety of health topics, collaborate with team members, and assist clients in meeting their nutrition goals.
Duties:
Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess patients' nutritional status and needs
Develop personalized meal plans based on patients' dietary requirements and health goals
Educate patients on intuitive eating habits, portion information, and food choices
Monitor patients' progress and adjust meal plans as needed
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including therapists and medication prescribers, to coordinate patient care
For IOP staff, provide supervision during onsite meals, contribute to nutrition curriculum for groups, coordinate restaurant and grocery shopping outings
Maintain confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and client's rights
Provide thorough clinical documentation in all electronic charts
Participate in monthly case staffing meetings and monthly dietician staff meetings
Stay up to date with the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition
Provide guidance on specialized diets
Demonstrate support of Chrysalis Center's mission, vision, and values.
Comply with the policies and procedures manual, confidentiality standards, and the Code of Ethics outlined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field; master's degree preferred
Strong knowledge of human physiology and the impact of nutrition on health
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and motivate patients
Clinical documentation
Proficient in using nutrition software for meal planning and analysis
Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
Additional Preferred Experience:
Two years post graduate experience in medical nutrition therapy, preference given to those with experience treating eating disorders.
Compensation and Benefits:
