Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, medical history, and dietary needs. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans tailored to specific health conditions such as diabetes, geriatrics, or weight management. Provide nutrition counseling and education using motivational interviewing techniques to motivate behavioral change and improve health outcomes. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition support into overall patient care. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently to document assessments, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Supervise dietary staff and oversee the preparation of specialized diets including tube feeding and other medical nutrition therapies (MNT). Stay current with advances in clinical nutrition, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation methods to ensure best practices are followed. Requirements Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from an accredited program with active licensure or certification as required by state law. Proven experience in clinical nutrition settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, or acute care environments. Strong knowledge of physiology, medical nutrition therapy (MNT), and dietary management for chronic diseases. Experience working with individuals with specific dietary needs including tube feeding and specialized care plans. Skilled in nutritional analysis, diagnostic evaluation, and developing effective care strategies for diverse populations including geriatrics. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management. Excellent client communication skills combined with experience in nutrition counseling and motivational interviewing techniques.
