Part Time About Hickory Recovery Network At Hickory Recovery Network , we believe nutrition is an essential part of the recovery journey. Our multidisciplinary team works together to provide compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals receiving treatment for mental health and substance use disorders. We are seeking a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about improving patient health through nutrition, education, and individualized care. In this role, you'll collaborate with our clinical and dietary teams to ensure patients receive high-quality nutritional support throughout their treatment experience. Position Overview The Registered Dietitian is responsible for overseeing all nutritional aspects of patient care and ensuring dietary services meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with the Executive Director and interdisciplinary treatment team, the Registered Dietitian assesses patients' nutritional needs, provides education and counseling, and supports the development of healthy eating habits that contribute to long-term recovery. Key Responsibilities Nutrition Assessment & Patient Care
Assess each patient's nutritional status and identify individual dietary needs.
Develop and recommend appropriate nutrition interventions based on clinical assessments.
Monitor the adequacy of patients' nutritional regimens and make recommendations as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and clinical staff to support individualized treatment plans. Nutrition Education & Counseling
Provide individualized nutrition counseling and education to patients.
Promote healthy eating habits that support recovery and overall wellness.
Demonstrate knowledge of food sources, nutrients, and healthy dietary practices.
Recognize and respect the cultural and social significance of food when providing patient care. Menu Planning & Dietary Oversight
Review and approve facility menus to ensure nutritional adequacy.
Approve menu substitutions while maintaining balanced nutrition.
Support dietary staff in providing safe, nutritious, and appealing meals.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to promote best practices in nutrition services. Documentation & Compliance
Document nutrition assessments, recommendations, and patient progress within the medical record.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility standards.
Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations governing dietary services.
Maintain current knowledge of professional standards and evidence-based nutrition practices. Qualifications Education & Licensure
Licensed or provisionally licensed Dietitian in accordance with state regulations or
Registered Dietitian in good standing Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
