Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Dietary Director to lead our food service operations within a healthcare environment. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and management of all dietary services, ensuring the delivery of nutritious, safe, and appealing meals that meet regulatory standards and support residents' health and well-being. Your leadership will foster a collaborative team environment, uphold food safety protocols, and drive continuous improvement in dietary practices. Responsibilities Develop and oversee comprehensive dietary programs aligned with residents' care plans and nutritional needs. Manage food service teams, including hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff to maintain high standards of performance. Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies, food safety management practices, and food service health code requirements. Conduct patient assessments to tailor meal plans that accommodate dietary restrictions, medical conditions, and personal preferences. Supervise food production processes to ensure quality, consistency, and nutritional adequacy of all meals served. Oversee budget management for the dietary department, including inventory control, cost analysis, and resource allocation. Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to document care plans, monitor nutritional progress, and coordinate with healthcare teams. Implement food safety protocols and conduct regular audits to maintain a safe dining environment in accordance with health regulations. Lead efforts in nutrition education and health coaching to promote healthy eating habits among residents. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate diagnostic data and adjust dietary strategies accordingly for optimal patient outcomes. Skills Proven experience in assisted living or healthcare settings with strong knowledge of dietetics and clinical nutrition principles. Expertise in patient assessment techniques related to nutrition needs and medical conditions. Skilled in managing food service operations, including food production, menu planning, and team supervision. Deep understanding of health regulation policies, food safety management, and compliance standards. Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing diverse teams within a dietary or food service department. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems like EMR/EHR platforms for documentation and care coordination. Strong knowledge of physiology related to nutrition and acute care environments. Budget management skills with experience in financial planning for large-scale food service operations. Ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations related to nutritional status and develop appropriate care plans. Effective communication skills for team leadership, staff training, resident interaction, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
