Job Overview Trinity Healthcare Services of Logan is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Dietary Manager to lead and oversee the dietary operations within a 120-bed skilled nursing facility. In this vital role, you will ensure the delivery of nutritious, safe, and appealing meals tailored to residents' individual health needs. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor personalized care plans that incorporate clinical nutrition principles, ensuring residents' dietary needs are met effectively. Supervise and manage the dietary team, including staff training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of service. Oversee food safety management practices, ensuring compliance with all health regulation policies and sanitation standards. Conduct patient assessments to determine nutritional requirements, including specialized needs such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluation. Manage electronic health records (EHR) related to dietary services, documenting care plans, progress notes, and nutritional interventions accurately. Coordinate with healthcare professionals for comprehensive care planning, including acute care situations and physiologically driven dietary adjustments. Monitor budgeting processes for the dietary department, optimizing resource allocation while maintaining quality standards. Ensure stock levels of staple/non-staple food, supplies, equipment, etc., are always maintained at adequate levels. Ensure all food preparation and service adhere to safety protocols, including food safety management practices. Provide health coaching to residents to promote healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices aligned with their care goals. Be prepared to handle emergencies as they occur. Requirements Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential preferred (or comparable certification) for the state of West Virginia. Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care settings with a strong understanding of patient assessment and care planning is preferred . Demonstrated supervisory experience managing dietary staff within a healthcare environment. Extensive knowledge of health regulation policies, food safety standards, and nutrition guidelines applicable to healthcare facilities. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to dietetic services. Experience with tube feeding management, diagnostic evaluation processes, and acute care nutrition is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams effectively. Knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and patient care is essential for accurate assessment and intervention strategies.
