Position Summary:
Camarillo Healthcare Center, a skilled nursing facility, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in the overall clinical leadership and daily nursing operations of the facility. The ADON plays a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and effective clinical systems. This role is ideal for a strong nurse leader who is passionate about quality outcomes, team development, and resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all nursing services within the skilled nursing facility Support daily clinical operations and ensure delivery of quality resident care in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations Supervise and guide nursing staff including RNs, LVNs, and CNAs Participate in staff scheduling oversight and staffing coordination to maintain appropriate coverage Monitor clinical practices to ensure compliance with skilled nursing standards and facility policies Assist with survey readiness and regulatory compliance efforts Participate in audits, quality assurance, and performance improvement programs Provide clinical guidance and coaching to nursing staff Assist with investigations, incident reviews, and corrective action plans Support infection control, risk management, and patient safety initiatives Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including therapy, social services, and dietary departments Help manage admissions, transfers, and discharges from a clinical perspective Participate in care plan meetings and clinical reviews as needed Step in for the Director of Nursing in their absence
Qualifications:
Current California RN license required Minimum 2-3 years of nursing leadership experience preferred Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility strongly preferred Strong knowledge of SNF regulations and survey process Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and team management skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Experience with clinical documentation systems and quality programs preferred
