Starting Salary:

$85,000+ annually Compensation negotiable based on experience and qualifications About the Role The Assistant Director of Nursing partners with the Director of Nursing to oversee daily clinical operations, ensure compliance with facility policies and state and federal regulations, and promote high-quality resident-centered care. This role provides leadership, support, and accountability for nursing staff while helping maintain survey readiness and positive clinical outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing with the management and oversight of daily nursing operations Provide leadership, coaching, and support to nursing staff to promote quality care and professional growth Conduct routine clinical audits including medication administration records, treatment documentation, physician orders, care plans, staffing records, and resident charts Monitor documentation practices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance Ensure ongoing compliance with facility policies, CMS guidelines, state regulations, and federal requirements Assist with survey preparation, survey response activities, and implementation of corrective action plans Participate in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and quality improvement projects Analyze clinical trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop action plans to improve outcomes Support infection prevention and control programs and monitor compliance with infection control standards Review incidents, accidents, and resident concerns to identify trends and implement preventive measures Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and individualized resident care planning Assist with staffing coordination, employee development, orientation, and ongoing education programs Respond to resident, family, and staff concerns in a professional and timely manner Maintain a culture focused on resident dignity, safety, quality, and customer service Participate in facility on-call rotation and provide leadership support as needed Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Iowa Previous healthcare leadership experience strongly preferred Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred Knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey processes, and long-term care regulatory requirements Experience with clinical auditing, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives preferred Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced healthcare environment Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care Join Our Team If you are a motivated nurse leader who is passionate about quality care, regulatory excellence, staff development, and resident advocacy, we invite you to apply.
