Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in healthcare management, with a focus on nursing leadership within skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings. This role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of excellence in patient care. The Director of Nursing (DON) will play a vital role in guiding staff, managing budgets, and upholding the organization's commitment to quality healthcare delivery. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all nursing services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards. Develop and implement policies that promote high-quality patient care, safety, and compliance with state-specific education laws. Manage the organizational budget for nursing operations, including staffing, supplies, and equipment, to optimize resource utilization. Supervise nursing staff through effective personnel management practices, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support instructional leadership in education initiatives for staff development and continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to all healthcare regulations and accreditation standards while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care. Lead efforts in strategic planning for staffing models, workflow efficiencies, and quality improvement initiatives within the nursing department. Skills Proven expertise in strategic planning and organizational budget management within healthcare settings. Extensive knowledge of state-specific education laws applicable to healthcare professionals. Strong management skills with experience in school administrative or educational leadership roles preferred. Demonstrated ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering teamwork and professional growth. Expertise in healthcare administration with a focus on clinical operations and personnel management.
