Mission-Driven Healthcare Organization Position Overview:
The Director of Nursing Services provides strategic and accountable leadership for long-term care operations, ensuring exceptional resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and quality outcomes. This role partners closely with facility leadership to establish best practices, drive quality improvement initiatives, and foster a culture of excellence in resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
? Oversee the delivery of nursing care and ensure the accuracy and integrity of resident care records. ? Participate in resident admissions by evaluating nursing care needs and available clinical resources. ? Ensure compliance with all Federal and State Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Conditions of Participation , including admissions, MDS processes, restorative nursing, and care delivery. ? Develop and implement policies and procedures that support nursing care, social services, and delegated medical care. ? Collaborate with the Administrator to determine appropriate staffing levels and establish staffing plans that ensure high-quality care 24 hours per day. ? Participate in strategic planning, decision-making, and budget development for the facility. ? Lead quality improvement initiatives and coordinate the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. ? Promote a safe environment for residents and staff through policy development and oversight of quality and safety initiatives. ? Delegate and monitor responsibilities consistent with staff training, competencies, and regulatory requirements. ? Coordinate Medicare and Medicaid coverage requirements and compliance activities. ? Ensure comprehensive care plans are developed, implemented, and updated in collaboration with physicians and care teams. ? Oversee discharge planning and resident transition processes. ? Lead employee recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, retention, and professional development efforts.
Job Requirements Required Qualifications:
? Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license in the state of practice. ? 4-6 years of long-term care, skilled nursing, or related clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
? 1-3 years of leadership experience.
