DON - Director of Nursing - Red Bench Management Brentwood, MO Job Details Full-time 19 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Writing skills Math Computer skills Budgeting Full Job Description The Health and Wellness Director (DON) is responsible for the on-site coordination of resident care in order to ensure the residents remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. Assist the resident and their family in maintaining the physical and emotional health of the residents and liaison with hospital personnel, physicians, community organizations and other health related service agencies to provide care to the residents. Hire, evaluates, coordinates, motivate, monitor performance, schedule and supervise department staff in accordance with company policy. Make recommendations to the Executive Director with respect to staff evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions and terminations. Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age. Education & Experience

• RN or LVN/LPN and two (2) years of college in human services or health care field.

• prefer two (2) years' experience providing residential care to the elderly or similar experience with specialized dementia care programs.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform calculations in support of personnel actions, budget, and other financial responsibilities.

Reasoning Skills:

Understand and conceptualize concepts as well as demonstrate ability to make decisions in stressful situations.

Oral/Written Communication Skills:

Be able to explain ideas and to communicate complex ideas to a wide audience (associates, residents, family members, governmental agencies, public, etc.), both in writing and verbally.

Equipment Used:

Be proficient in basic office equipment (including a personal computer) for the purpose of accomplishing and maintaining a high level of job performance.

Physical Effort:

Be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job. Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test result no more than 6 months prior or seven (7) days after employment.

Personal Characteristics:

Ability to show sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families.

Working Conditions:

Physical presence in the community to observe and work with staff and residents. Well-lit office with appropriate ventilation and temperature levels. Be able to be on your feet for several hours as necessary.

Other:

Employee must pass a criminal record clearance and drug screen prior to beginning work in the community. Willing to work shift assigned, weekends, and holidays.
