Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Director of Nursing (RN) to lead our nursing team within a long-term care or senior living environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing leadership experience, a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, and a passion for delivering resident-centered care. This leadership role offers an opportunity to influence clinical excellence while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment. Responsibilities Provide strategic oversight of all nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care in accordance with state and federal regulations. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs), promoting professional development and clinical excellence. Develop and review individualized care plans aligned with residents' needs, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. Oversee documentation review processes, including medical records, care plans, and regulatory reports, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Manage staffing schedules to ensure appropriate shift coverage while optimizing resource utilization. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care delivery, including memory care units, hospice services, home health agencies, and other specialized programs such as assisted living or acute care. Ensure compliance with long-term care regulations, Medicare requirements, and other applicable standards while maintaining operational efficiency. Requirements Valid RN license in good standing with current state registration. Extensive experience in nursing home management or long-term care facility supervision; assisted living experience is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of MDS (Minimum Data Set) processes, Medicare regulations, and long-term care compliance standards. Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in clinical settings; ability to manage teams effectively across shifts. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) documentation practices. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and patient care procedures relevant to elderly populations. Experience working within home health or hospice environments is advantageous; knowledge of regulatory requirements for these settings is preferred. Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to foster teamwork and motivate staff members toward shared goals.
